We need to be in Tacoma on Sunday for pre-race activities, prior to the Monday evening start. For those who don’t want to or can’t head back home and then back again on Monday, a good camping option would be Dash Point State Park. It’s just around the corner from the north end of Commencement Bay. Despite its proximity to Tacoma, it’s a nice quiet wooded state park. And hey, you’ll already have camping gear with you!
It offers beach launching for shakedown or commute-to-Tacoma purposes; no boat ramp.
Currently the group campsite is available on June 10. Having already reserved the Blake Island group campsite for June 11, I’ll offer someone else the opportunity to do the same for Dash Point.
